So I like the movies...

I'm transforming my blog into a film review/film thoughts website. I realized I don't really like sharing random thoughts about stupid things about my day on the internet. So a refreshing reinvention was necessary.

Here it is:

This is now a film blog. I like watching films, reading screenplays, and pretending to know everything, so made sense to do this. I live in the center of the film industry. I'm a complete outsider, but I like movies. And I like talking about my thoughts on film to people, but they mostly get sick of me, ignore me, un-friend me on Facebook, and never speak to me again. OK. The internet always needs another friend.

THis is what I do at work...

Working at a book store has its good times~

So I just became a finalist for the 10-10-10 Santa Barbara International Film Festival Competition. Whatever happens, my film will be made and screened at the festival in Feburary, mark your calendars.

Theres a red carpet and a press confrence and everything.

I also believe that winning means a scholarship? but I'm not sure yet.

My mentor that I;m working with is Robert Lewis who was a major director/writer in the 80s. And I love the 80s.

EXCITED!!!!

Hurt

*cute~*
Now that Ive been more involved in film , (Yes, Ive officially complete 2 short screenplays and beginning to develop my first student film) I actually paid close attention to the Oscars.
I watched all the nominated films and tried to stay on board with the shorts, documentaries, and independents.
I am so proud that Kathryn Bigelow won for best director. The Hurt Locker is a masterpiece in its self. It depicts perfectly and in a justified manner the situation in Iraq without overwhelming its viewers. Everything about that movie is superb, editing, cinematography, sound, and lighting. The art direction is nothing short of spectacular, I felt like I was in Iraq. I cant imagine how they did it with such a low budget.
and to all you haters, AVATAR SUCKS! thats right, Im a motherflippin hypocrite!

p.s. Sandra Bullock is a terrible actress!!!!

ALIENS IN THE GODDAMN CLOSET!!!!

IN my Film class in 6th period (this is the class where i sit by the uber sexy sexx man) , we've been watching the ALIENS movie, to study Sigourney Weaver's "reluctant hero" character. By the way, freakiest fucking movie EVER! Although, ALIEN was creepy, ALIENS was down right nasty. those damn aliens really scare me.

Anyway, we started talking about PREDATOR as well, among other sci-fi movies. Which got me thinking, why are Humans so anti-alien? I mean, in every science fiction story, humans visit planet, kills its inhabitants and take over planet. Why are aliens always painted in such a bad light? If they are crazy human-eating aliens, they must be exterminated, and if they are intelligent beings, they are not to be trusted.

As far as most aliens are concerned the HUMANS are the intruders. So they're just doing what they naturally would do in a situation where their planet was being intruded upon by aliens (in this case humans). I don't know where all this alien hate came from. Peace and love, people.

Humans and aliens should just co-exists like they do in the Star Wars galaxy. Seems perfectly reasonable to me.

DON:T HATE ON ALIENS!!! accept their differences. There is definitely more prejudice against aliens then there ever was towards gays or blacks or muslims.

p.s. Obviously, in case you didn't catch that, this is all speculation. I don't actually know what aliens will be like, and I don't know (although I can probably guess) what the human reaction will be like.

What do you think?

Shame on you Hollywood

Thank you Governator for having a slightly functioning brain!

Shame on you brilliant filmmakers petitioning to pardon a rapist. Roman Polanski, however brilliant and artistic he may be, deserves to be punished for what he did. He is a disgusting pedophille rapist, who drugged a 13 year old girl and then raped her multiple times. He does not deserve any kind of pardon.
"He's a brilliant guy, and he made a little mistake 32 years ago." is what one film maker said of Polanski! A LITTLE mistake!? Seriously? So it's ok to rape and drug underage girls-for that matter anyone-because it happened 32 years ago?

Forget it! Shame on you, Woody Allen, Martin Scorsese (I love you but how could you!?) , Adrien Brody, Brett Ratner and anyone else who is standing behind this pervert. His art and his pedophillic ways are two different things! One can't justify the other. Chinatown, Rosemary's Baby, and the Pianist are some of my favorite movies! But he still raped that girl!!!

The Governator and I say OFF WITH HIS HEAD!!!
NO MERCY FOR RAPISTS!!!

OSCARS 2009

KATE WINSLET FINALLY WON!!!! I'm so proud of my girl Kate, I've loved her ever since seeing Titanic and she's never let me down in any of her movies. She is an amazing actor and among the greatest actresses alove today. She's in line with Meryl Streep as the best alive and I'm so proud of her. She's been nominated like every year now and I knew that this would be her year. The Reader was one of the best movies she has ever done! Believe me, she was extreme in that movie. I'm so happy Angelina didn't win. Kate definately deserved that shiny golden naked man!!!!

The movie industry is a man's world and for Kate to be honored with an oscar just goes to the magnitude of her talent.!

SEAN PENN in Milk. I'm glad he won. Milk brought me to tears and although it didn't win best picture, Sean Penn was brilliant in it. He's amazing. Mickey Rourke was great in the Wrestler, but it didn't beat Sean Penn's performance as Harvey Milk. That was an movie that was so appropriate for our times and I just want to get all the haters together and watch it. (ehem....a certain someone...)

HEATH LEDGER for the Dark Knight, I still haven't seen that movie but if it's worth all the hype, I'm ready to say that the late and great Heath deserved it. Who your soul reencarnated into(yes, I do believe in reincarnation) that child is going to grow up to be a worthy soul of greatness.

DANNY BOYLE!!!!! is amazing. enough said.

one day I'm going to be at the awards and then ya'll can suck it!~

movie posts

god, i hate those people who post about these movies that they've seen!!! it pisses me off sooooo baaaaaad!!! (even tho i do it all the time. i realize ppl do it because they have nothing better to post about but still...)
I especially hate it when they say shit like "so n so is such a good actress/actor" when in actuality, they suck balls. and also when they totally dont get the point of the movie. These stupid idiots just really dont understand that there is so much more to movies than what meets the eye. it's not just about the fucking acting!!! movie making is way more than that!!!
Grrr....i hate it even more when people just dont get the richness of certain scripts. they're all like, "it was a terrible movie! i couldn;t understand a thing they were saying in the script" but really???? IT"s CALLED FUCKING ART.

people just dont appreciate art enough.
I do. I totally do!

cheers, Ang! I haven't posted in ages!!

blogging

So I've been thinking. Maybe I want to be one of those famous bloggers. you know, who review movies and music and shows and shit. I mean, it'd be kinda cool.. if you build up a big enough reputation, you get invited to go to screenings of different movies, or get flown out to Vegas to go see the Cirque de Solei or something.
That would be cool.
I'm trying to find something I can do that combines the things I love with the things I can do. 1.) I love movies, music, shows. 2.) Im a cinical bitch and therefore would be perfect at being a critic. 3.) it's sooo goddamn easy.
All I'm saying is that would be cool.

Oh, and that movie the Dutchess (with Keira fucking Knightly and Voldie Voldemortus) SUX!!!!! Dont ever see it, the only attraction is voldie, of course...and they made him all fat for the movie. and jesus christ there are about 1000030020494 side shots of keira knightly's face and her face isn;t that great looking, the entire movie. hardly and plot and it was her frinkin nose the whole time.
one good thing was that the theatre was packed full of old people, so I felt right at home,

cheers

Chainsaws

I watched the Texas Chainsaw Massacre the other day.
Freakiest movie ever!
I watched it with a friend at her house, and she lives at this freaky cluttered house, in the dark. We were like crying. I walked back that evening all scared and I kept looking over my shoulder thinking that I would see a huge guy with a fake bloody face and a chainsaw right behind me! EEEEEEEEKKKKKK!
I suggest you watch it. it's totally the goriest, grossed , most disturbing movie I've even watched.

p.s. its Wentworth Miller and Justin Long's birthday today (just a bit of info I got from the internet)

For those of you who have not yet seen this extrodinary movie. GO SEE IT!!!

probably the best super hero movie EVER!! i was holding my breath the whole time. heads up, theres no spandex or latex suits involved, but the iron man outfit is soooo sexy. Never thot Id actually admit that.

And Robert Downey Jr. is incredibly sexy! WHo would have guessed...?

theres this scene where he's pounding away to the music, all sweaty and oooooooh! do i really need to say more??

Ang, you have to see it in the theater its so good!
